Tank battle kuwait gulf war easting2/22/2024 The Gulf War was viewed at the time as an important test of u.s. operational names Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, have given us a rich and important literature on the military aspects of the war and the state of the military profession at the end of the Cold War. Although increasingly viewed, even by historians, as little more than a historical footnote to the tumultuous events in the region after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the subsequent invasion of Iraq in 2003, studies on the Persian Gulf War, often referred to by their u.s. military operations, and finally some general or popular works on the war. Where the first part focused on the important operations and technological developments surrounding the air war, this second part discusses those works on the operations of ground (army and marines) and naval forces, professional studies, memoirs, some books on non- u.s. This is the second of two parts of a review article on some of the key historical books written in English on military operations in the Persian Gulf from 1990 to 1991.
